MPC Energy testimonial at FMA Summits

Speaker: Ken Stolman, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, MPC Energy.
MPC Energy logo MPC Energy
Segment: Energy and decarbonization solutions for enterprises with complex energy goals.
Goal: Spend deeper quality time with a focused group of companies, advance conversations beyond first contact and leave with genuine next steps.
As chief sales and marketing officer at MPC Energy, Ken Stolman attends FMA Summits to get better quality time with a narrower band of companies that fit his solution. Instead of chasing quick touches at a massive trade show, he uses the summit to meet prospects across multiple settings. He can see their briefings, join them at breakfast and lunch and then sit down for focused conversations about how MPC can support their energy strategy. This format lets him walk away with a smaller number of highly qualified opportunities instead of a large pile of shallow leads.

Ken stresses that the value of FMA is in how it advances the sales conversation. When he attends delegate presentations, he hears directly about the company’s business model and energy goals. That means when he sits down with them later, he can open with a clear understanding of what they are trying to accomplish and where MPC can augment their plans. Because delegates often see his presentation first, every meeting starts from a baseline of understanding about MPC’s offer. He leaves summits with concrete plans for next contacts and next meetings, and in most cases those advances are genuine. He has already committed to three summits in a year because he sees the forum as a repeatable way to move deals forward.

I am Ken Stolman with MPC Energy. I am chief sales and marketing officer. I enjoy FMA Summits because I find that I can get better quality time with perhaps a narrower band of companies that I normally would not get to have time with. I can meet them, I can have lunch with them, breakfast, I can spend some good quality time talking about what we do in addition to them meeting me and meeting the company and the organization. I typically walk out of here with a lot of very good quality leads. That is really my goal, to leave with not a quantity but quality. That is the value of an FMA Summit. I also spend a lot of time going to briefings from companies that I am interested in pursuing and that are a good fit for me. When I go to their briefings I get very good insight into their business model and their energy goals and what they are trying to accomplish. Now the conversation has advanced before I even sit down with them. I can go to them and say I saw your presentation, I saw what your goals are and I think I can augment them. When I meet with companies, especially after they have seen my presentation, that formulates a baseline. They know what we do, so every meeting advances because they understand my offer and I can ask how it might help them in their energy goals. I leave here with a plan for the next contact and the next meeting. I ask if they want me to contact them and if they want this to advance and in most cases it is genuine. That is the goal. I am signed up for three summits this year, so this is one of three. I see the value and I really enjoy the forum.
