PowerSecure testimonial at FMA Summits

Speaker: Mark Martyak, Chief Sales Officer, Distributed Infrastructure Division, PowerSecure.

Segment: Distributed infrastructure and microgrids for mission critical facilities across the United States.
Goal: Meet concentrated groups of qualified customers in an intimate setting, instead of competing for attention at large national trade shows.
Mark Martyak leads sales for the distributed infrastructure division at PowerSecure, the nation’s leader in microgrids. His team attends conferences all over the United States, but this testimonial explains why they keep coming back to FMA Summits and why this is already their third event. The first factor he calls out is the ratio of solution providers to actual customers. Instead of being one of hundreds of exhibitors in a convention center competing with golf, skiing and other distractions, PowerSecure is one of a small group of sponsors in a tight, focused environment where buyers stay engaged.

Mark highlights the way the summit is planned. Presentations are capped at twenty minutes and all breaks, cocktail hours and networking happen in a compact space, which keeps sponsors and delegates together. FMA also sets up breakfasts and lunches with people who are specifically interested in microgrids and distributed infrastructure, so PowerSecure knows they are meeting the right stakeholders. He notes that at each summit they have gained at least one new customer as a minimum, and at the Columbus event he expects to close business with two or three new prospects while strengthening relationships with existing clients. They have already committed to future summits such as Chicago based on the results.

Good morning. I am Mark Martyak. I am chief sales officer of the distributed infrastructure division of PowerSecure. We are the nation’s leader in microgrids. We are very much enjoying the conference. This is our third one and we attend conferences all over the United States. What we like about this one is that, number one, the ratio of suppliers or providers to actual customers. That is number one for us. Number two is that they are very well planned. Everything occurs in a very tight space. You are not in a huge convention center where you are walking from one end to another. You are not in a huge trade show where you are competing against hundreds and hundreds of other companies and also competing against whatever is happening in that area, whether it is golf or skiing or other things that distract the customers. We see that all the time. What we really like about this is that we get an opportunity to present. Each presentation is twenty minutes and then all the breaks and cocktail hour and so on are all in a very tight space so you stay focused with your customers. FMA also sets up breakfast and lunches with people who are specifically interested in what you do and that means a lot. I can tell you in each one we have gained one customer as a minimum, which is great. This show in Columbus has been really good. We have met two or three potential customers that I really do think we will end up doing business with. Plus, as it worked out, we had one of our existing customers here, so we got to spend some really good quality time. We have already signed up for Chicago.
