Keynote Speakers

  • Steven Driver, Global Energy Program Director

    Steven’s presentation will familiarize the audience with different financial techniques required to sell energy projects or an entire program to senior management. The overall process from setting the environmental/financial goal, to creating an energy baseline and preforming the critical energy audit is reviewed. Tracking performance is also discussed along with how to make a program sustainable over time.

  • Jim Davoux, Director, Global Energy Management & Environmental Sustainability

    Jim’s presentation title is “Laboratory Lighting and HVAC Savings” which will explain how AbbVie installed LED lighting along with a next generation lighting control system to reduce the electricity spend in one of their large laboratory buildings in the Chicago area.  Then leveraged the new lighting control system and the existing building automation system to drive further HVAC energy savings. This presentation will give an overview of the project and highlight the opportunities and challenges.

  • MaryAnn Ibeziako, Director of Engineering and Energy

    MaryAnn oversees a staff of 28 Engineers and Energy Managers and is responsible for the overall energy program. As Director, MaryAnn provides Facilities Management wide engineering support with regard to design standards, commissioning, energy modeling, and the Utility Master Plan. 

  • Ruby Cruz & Marcus Lewis, Corporate Energy Manager

    Ruby and Marcus will give you a comprehensive look at the impact that energy efficiency strategies especially NYC H + H’s Energy Management Model has on energy and greenhouse gas reduction efforts at the largest public health system in the country.

  • Julie Paquette, Director of Energy Management

    Julie is the Director of Energy Management within the Office of Facilities. In this role, she leads a broad portfolio of initiatives in support of the University’s energy and sustainability goals. Julie has extensive technical experience with high performance building and campus energy systems, and is personally and professionally committed to sustainability innovation, education, and advocacy.

  • David Ohayon, Energy Manager

    David is a leader in Pratt & Whitney’s strategy to reduce its energy usage and carbon footprint at facilities across the world through the identification and implementation of key projects and Best Management Practices. Pratt & Whitney aims to achieve world-class sustainability in its factories, suppliers and products. For factories, this includes recycling, waste management, and reducing water consumption and GHG emissions to meet goals established by its parent corporation, United Technologies.

  • Wendy Gettleman, Vice President of Facilities Management & Real Estate

    Wendy’s position includes oversight of Facilities Maintenance and Operations; Planning, Design and Construction; Real Estate & Energy Management; Facilities Business Services, including General Services and Food Services. In this role, Wendy will drive the Facilities agenda including major capital construction and renovations, pursue continuity of plant operations for all DFCI sites and guide master facility space planning efforts.

  • Stanley Nolan, Director of Utilities & Energy Management

    Stanley will be discussing how The University of Connecticut is engaged in a $1.5 billion growth program that must also reduce energy costs and increase sustainability while seeking carbon neutrality by 2050. Comprehensive Energy Strategy and public private partnership are engaged to provide key solutions to Sustainable Growth and Conservation.

  • John Gioioso, Senior Director, Corporate Building Services & Real Estate

    John has dedicated his career to the Facilities/Real Estate industry. He oversees the functions of real estate, design, construction, FF&E, corporate services, and facilities. He holds a BSBA in management from Suffolk University and Masters in Facilities from Cambridge College. In addition, two designations. Certified facilities manager (CFM) and Masters of Corporate Real Estate (MCR).

  • Julie Newman, Director of Sustainability

    Julie is an experienced Director Of Sustainability with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. She is a strong community and social services professional skilled in Research, Fundraising, Sustainability, Climate Change, and Grant Writing.

  • Joby Carlson, Director, Energy & Operations Sustainability

    Joby is responsible for managing the development and execution of Walmart’s enterprise wide sustainability strategies for its own operations includes more than 11,000 facilities and massive trucking fleet worldwide. Joby leads the company’s global policies and approach to addressing climate and emissions, advancing energy efficiency, scaling renewables, improving refrigeration, eliminating solid and organic waste, increasing water stewardship and conserving land and habitat.
