ATL 2014 Summit was our first one to attend and exhibit, and thus far I must admit that this is one of the classiest events I’ve attended. Facilities and amenities were excellent, top-notch event staff, great facilities staff, extremely professional moderation of presentations, setting up of mtgs at lunches, etc. I also liked the show size and caliber of attendees – that you can literally talk with at least half the attendees and all of the speakers, many of whom all have significant roles in their organizations around energy and sustainability. Robust conversations can easily be had with several of these folks as well – either at the booths or around a lunch table. Also that the exhibit floor is where all the networking happens is key to generating those conversations. And that “culture” really spread to everyone – attendees were quite open to having conversations with exhibitors because they seemed to understand that exhibitors were a valuable resource for them, and they genuinely wanted to learn. Based on others’ comments and my own perspective, would like to have seen a few less presentations where speakers only presented their own products, but I realize the organizers don’t have total control over that. Overall, it appears to be a solid investment and of course time will tell. However, we’re optimistic about the eventual results.
